I heard it for the first time in years at the cricket club last week. The people who said it apologised and I bent that.

It washed over me at the time. I thought I got over it fast, but it festered for the next couple of days — the word annoys me so much. Bent brings back so many insecurities and gay sense of worthlessness. I was angry. This was probably not part of a deeper homophobic attitudebut it was still distressing.
